Lay Your Love On Me – Circle of Funk, True2Life, Phillip Ramirez

Circle of Funk are always changing things up on the UK dance scene, and this time they have teamed up with fellow Bristol producer Richard True2Life Pring who featured on their recent Feelin’It remix package. Circle of Funk have collaborated with quality vocalists in the past including Lifford Shillingford, Robert Owens, Natasha Watts, Dawn Tallman and Charlene Samms, and this release showcases talented Californian vocalist Phillip Ramirez.

Richard Pring has been a producer for many years as part of the Triplicity and Park Street team. Since 2011 he has produced under the name True2Life, with releases including Morrisson, Dennis Wonder, and Rainy Payne, and remixes for Pat Bedeau and Wipe The Needle. He had major success with a rework of Mike Delgado’s ‘Latino Way’ in 2013, and Richard has worked with Phillip Ramirez before on the tracks ‘Take Me Higher’ and ‘Sweet Memories’.

Phillip Ramirez has been a professional vocalist since 1990, and he received widespread acclaim for his debut release ‘See the Light’ with 95 North. Phillip has gone from strength to strength in the music industry and has additionally achieved success as a playwright, composer and songwriter. He is widely recognised as an accomplished singer and international recording artist and has performed worldwide with several dance club singles in his discography.

This package is being released on the rising Slapped Up Soul label which showcases new and established soulful talent both in the UK and worldwide.

Lay Your Love On Me is a lively upbeat track that will have the dance floor bouncing from the start. The catchy vocals are delivered effortlessly by Phillip in his signature emotive voice.

The Main Mix has an overall warmth to it, with a traditional jacking house beat, well placed keys, expert percussion touches, and an effervescent dance vibe. The True2Life Dub is equally lively but with a more atmospheric and deeper feel, and is the perfect late night floor filler. The package also includes an instrumental version. Lay Your Love On Me is a refreshing and appealing track that will prove a satisfying addition to any DJ selection this season.
